La Bohème

La Bohème

David Geselson created Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème for his first opera production. His staging places this opera in the context of the revolutionary movements of the 19th century, with the painters, poets and philosophers of the time serving as political and pictorial references. Mimi and Musetta are the emblematic figures of this social freedom, which seeks to triumph in death and love respectively. In doing so, he reveals through these two women a poignant form of commitment: that of loving and living life to the full, even when the outcome is known in advance and everything seems to be working against the possibility of future happiness. This opera is an opportunity for David Geselson to bring together the collaborators of Lieux-Dits (Lisa Navarro, Jérémie Scheidler, Jérémie Papin, Benjamin Moreau and Sophie Bricaire).
